FMP Brainstorming - 06/10/2015

Having come back from the summer months, feeling new and refreshed, I was given my brief and had my tutorial session today. I have been swaying in and out of ideas, thinking of doing a character design or perhaps an environment walk through. I have literally bounced from idea to idea, thinking of perhaps doing environment modelling, to a short interlude or a set of photo realistic renders.

Some of my ideas consisted of taking a deeper look into Holograms as suggested by one of my friends, thinking about a environment walk through of a historical period as a hologram. Discussing this, it seemed to be a scrapped idea as the Microsoft Hololens will make holograms more accessible.

I thought back to my dissertation and want my FMP to link in, even if it is slightly, to my dissertation. I found a study on mental illness which supported an argument I had within my dissertation proposal which I find really interesting. Also, I want to link in my love for CG automotive design and so I thought of perhaps a diorama of a futuristic vehicle fully rendered and lit in an ancient setting. Also had the idea of a short film/interlude of linking mental illness to cars where an old, battered car drives along, stops and breaks down acting crazy and suddenly a new car slides out to sort of break the less able social divide.

Some exhibitions and artists I found interesting were the Bloodhound project, where they've created a supersonic car designed to go at the speed of sound over 1000mph. I found the work of Guillermo Abalos Ventoso, who is a CG automotive artist, interesting. He creates detailed renders and animations for the likes of Mercedes-Benz.

Still going over lots of ideas, before I settle on one. I am hoping the live project can inspire me some more.
