FMP Inspiration - 17/11/15

Completing my live project, I think there's lots for me to take from this. I love the sleekness in my outcome and the professional yet artistic look I tried to create. Here are  two of my final renders:

Taking the Audi R8 birth as my main source of inspiration and then using that to influence my live project, I want to create a sci-fi theme based environment walk through. What really got me thinking about the R8 video, was what would happen in a world where that concept truly existed? What would happen after the birth of the baby car? Surely the infant car would need some assistance before it learns too..."drive"?  Taking these questions into consideration and putting some preliminary thought to it, I've decided to go with an environment walk through of a sci-fi based infant car chamber.

I want to have a look at various different angles in which I can take this, so I'll be looking at actualy hyperbaric chambers which are present in some hospitals as well as other concepts to steer my thoughts. I will have a look at what torture chambers are like also and bring all my ideas together before I begin creating concepts of my ideas.

Some images that inspire my direction of thought are shown below:

Above is shown a hyperbaric chamber which is used in modern medicine for health treatment where conventional healing methods have failed or not significantly improved the patient.

These are baby cots,  where new borns are placed to help regulate their breathing with oxygen etc in a makeshift hospital in indonesia

Below are some images that I found interesting.

FMP Brainstorming Continued.. - 13/10/15

Shuffling over my ideas and after discussing them at my second tutorial meeting, I had decided on doing an environment walk-through, linking into a case study done by George and Futes in the university of California, which I used in my dissertation proposal. The idea would showcase a sleek supercar on the outside but when the camera focuses in on the interior of the car, it would look battered and bruised. The seats would be ripped and torn, the steering wheel would be hanging off a thread, there would be cobwebs plastered in the corners of the car. With this idea, I wanted to personify the car, to relate to mental illness.

Continuing with my live project, and having not worked on the FMP as the majority of my focus has been spent on the live project, I am having a change of heart in relation to my idea. I am not sure what exactly I am aiming to focus in on, but I am most probably going to stick to an environment walk through. A video I watched in the summer months on an R8 giving birth to a RS3 blew me away and is really is the kind of look I want to go for.

Below is the video:

FMP Brainstorming - 06/10/2015

Having come back from the summer months, feeling new and refreshed, I was given my brief and had my tutorial session today. I have been swaying in and out of ideas, thinking of doing a character design or perhaps an environment walk through. I have literally bounced from idea to idea, thinking of perhaps doing environment modelling, to a short interlude or a set of photo realistic renders.

Some of my ideas consisted of taking a deeper look into Holograms as suggested by one of my friends, thinking about a environment walk through of a historical period as a hologram. Discussing this, it seemed to be a scrapped idea as the Microsoft Hololens will make holograms more accessible.

I thought back to my dissertation and want my FMP to link in, even if it is slightly, to my dissertation. I found a study on mental illness which supported an argument I had within my dissertation proposal which I find really interesting. Also, I want to link in my love for CG automotive design and so I thought of perhaps a diorama of a futuristic vehicle fully rendered and lit in an ancient setting. Also had the idea of a short film/interlude of linking mental illness to cars where an old, battered car drives along, stops and breaks down acting crazy and suddenly a new car slides out to sort of break the less able social divide.

Some exhibitions and artists I found interesting were the Bloodhound project, where they've created a supersonic car designed to go at the speed of sound over 1000mph. I found the work of Guillermo Abalos Ventoso, who is a CG automotive artist, interesting. He creates detailed renders and animations for the likes of Mercedes-Benz.

Still going over lots of ideas, before I settle on one. I am hoping the live project can inspire me some more.
